You can put all the spins you want on this matter, but it is time for more bishops and cardinals to step forward and make things clear . The idea that the possibility can be opened for divorced and remarried people to take communion goes against the Catholic faith . That is to say, we are not dealing with a mere pastoral issue, but something that affects the very essence of two sacraments: that of marriage and that of the Eucharist.

The first, insofar as it is indissoluble, cannot be ignored by accepting a second irregular union, which Christ, let us remember, calls adultery. The word adulterer may be politically incorrect today. Pastorally, it may be decided to tone down the description of the spiritual reality of these people. But Christ said what he said . In the eyes of God, anyone who has divorced and remarried is an adulterer. And whoever doesn't like me saying it, should ask our Lord and Savior, who was the one who used that word, for explanations.

It goes without saying that if an adulterer wants to maintain a spiritual life, the Church cannot reject him and leave him "lying in the street." As a mother, she must receive him, help him, guide him towards salvation. But in that help one cannot ignore the truth . Namely:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not possess the kingdom Email Data of God? Do not be deceived: neither the fornicators, nor the idolaters, nor the adulterers... (1st Cor 6,9)

Marriage be held in honor by all; let the marriage bed be spotless, because God will judge fornicators and adulterers. (Heb 13:4)

What type of pastoral care would be one that leaves the sinner in a sin that is incompatible with salvation? Can someone explain it to me, whether layman, religious, deacon, priest, bishop, cardinal or Pope? Or perhaps we are going to be more “good shepherds” than Christ, who reminded us of “ what God has joined together, let no man put asunder ” (Mt 19:6? Does anyone really think that the power to bind and loose that the Lord gave to his Church is that it can say that what he affirmed in relation to marriage and adultery is no longer valid?

It is clear that in a divorce both parties are not always equally at fault . Everyone knows cases where the husband or wife abandons the spouse to run off with someone else. In such a way that the one who has suffered infidelity is left alone and, sometimes, with a whole life ahead of him. Many ask: does this faithful person have to suffer the “punishment” of not being able to maintain another romantic relationship that ends in a marriage open to life? Well, look, we return to what Christ said: No, it cannot . And if he does, he sins gravely and becomes as adulterous as the spouse who betrayed him in the first place.
